Connecting a domain to your portfolio
If you purchased a domain from a third-party provider (like GoDaddy, Hover, or 1&1), you can connect it to your Iso100mm site by following a process called domain mapping. This process requires you to change a few settings in your registrar's account to tell the domain where to point. This guide will walk you through our general domain connecting steps.
Step 1 - Open the Iso100mm settings page
In the platform menu, click Settings, and then fill your domain (without http:// or www) in the Custom Domain field.
Step 2 - Log into your provider
In a new browser tab or window, log into your domain provider's site, and find where you manage your DNS settings. Depending on your provider, this may be called Zone File Settings, Manage Domains, Domain Manager, DNS Manager, or something similar.
Here, you'll create these records so your domain correctly links to your portfolio site.
Step 3 - Add the CNAME Record
In the first line of your Domains panel, copy the unique code that appears directly below the Host column.
In your provider's DNS manager, create a CNAME with these values:
| Alias or Host Name | Type or Record Type | Points to |
| www | CNAME or CNAME Alias | connect.iso100mm.com |
Step 4 - Add the A Record
Find the area of your DNS settings where you edit your A Records. Create A Record matching what's shown below.
| Host or Host Name | Records, Record Type, or Type | Points To or Details |
| @ | A | 45.55.124.42 |
If your provider doesn't accept @ as a Host Name, we recommend leaving the Host/Host Name field blank or entering your domain name without the "www" in front.
Final Step - Wait and test
If the records are entered correctly, your domain will connect to your site within 24 hours.
